Safe Communities; Safe Kids
Safe Communities; Safe Kids is an innovative program that brings together trained Vanguard University college students, called Peer-Educators, and dedicated teachers to provide essential education on human trafficking, online safety, and healthy relationships.
About the Program
Safe Communities; Safe Kids is a strategically designed prevention education program that partners trained Vanguard University students—known as Peer Educators—with classroom teachers to deliver age-appropriate instruction on human trafficking, online safety, and healthy relationships.
Grounded in the research-based PROTECT prevention education curriculum, the program consists of three structured lessons: two are led by a team of skilled Peer Educators, and one is facilitated by the classroom teacher. This model encourages student engagement, fosters critical thinking, and inspires youth to take meaningful action in their communities.
The program aligns with the California Healthy Youth Act (CHYA) and Assembly Bill 1227 (AB 1227), supporting your school’s compliance with state education mandates on human trafficking prevention.
