Celebration of Fair Trade Fashion

Live2free's annual Fair Trade Fashion Show is coming to your virtually this year! We are thrilled to announce this year's alternative: Live2free's 2-week Celebration of Fair Trade Fashion.

Live2free kicked off this past week with #Live2freeFairTradeChallenge, a social media challenge encouraging people to share their ethical fashion. In partnership with Soroptimist Huntington Beach, they also hosted a webinar, "Conversations on Fair Trade Fashion," featuring guests from Fair Trade LADressemberPurpose Jewelry, and the Salvation Army.

RESEARCH - Ensure Justice 2021: Being Crushed is a two-day virtual conference on March 5-6, 2021 for people who want to study the issues, be a voice, and make a difference in the fight to end human trafficking.Our annual conference considers the unique experiences of vulnerable people to exploitation and trafficking, which have intensified during Covid-19 uncertainty. Being Crushed will focus on early intervention solutions that build resilience, strengthen communities, and provide hope. Speakers will address topics such as resource scarcity, substance abuse and family violence, public health and mapping resources, and Adverse Childhood Experience tools. 
EDUCATION - We are thrilled to announce the new Masters in Leadership Concentration in Women and Justice.This concentration prepares leaders to bring redemptive resolutions to current challenges in community life, particularly concerning women and justice issues within the family, church, and society. Coursework invites biblical and theological reflection, practical application, and consideration of current cultural and global realities for women, including violence, human trafficking, and marginalization. 
ADVOCACY - In EP. 235: Human Trafficking and Public Health of the Ending Human Trafficking podcast, Dr. Sandie Morgan and Dr. Susie Baldwin discuss the position of healthcare in preventing and battling human trafficking. Dr. Baldwin describes the role healthcare takes in protecting and serving the community. Both of these experts look at the reason prevention is such an important part of anti-human trafficking. As Dr. Morgan puts it, "…an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." 
COLLABORATION - As part of their 2-week Celebration of Fair Trade Fashion, Live2free will host two webinars next week. Two attendees at each webinar will win a "Fair Trade in a Box" giveaway, stuffed with fair trade goods and resources! HOPE - Vanguard Giving Day is a 24-hour online giving campaign that supports programs, departments, and initiatives throughout the University. The goal of Giving Day is to bring our community together, celebrating our collective power and transforming Vanguard through our shared generosity. The focus of the day will be on rallying Lions of all generations and affiliations to make a gift on November 12
