A scholar-practitioner knowledge base of women’s issues by professors and students supports our mission to advance the status of women. The inter-disciplinary Women and Justice Minor and Anti Human Trafficking Certificate provide students with a theoretical and practical foundation.

Live2Free Peer Educators
GCWJ’s Live2Free Peer Educators have delivered hundreds of peer-led anti-trafficking and anti-exploitation presentations to college students in the United States and abroad over its 20-year history. In 2024, with funding from a new grant and support from the incredible Jamie Macintosh, GCWJ expanded the program. Since its expansion the program has trained 48 Vanguard students to serve as peer educators and deliver prevention education in high schools throughout Orange County in collaboration with OCDE.
The program comprises two 50–60-minute class sessions covering topics like human trafficking awareness, healthy relationships, online safety, exploitation, grooming, and strategies for identifying and responding to warning signs. These lessons are delivered to schools at no charge.
Since 2024, Live2Free Program Peer Educators have taught 158 prevention lessons and reached 2,113 students in Orange County. The program recently expanded into juvenile hall and remains open to requests from OC schools.

Women & Justice Minor
The minor in Women & Justice (WJST) is an interdisciplinary course of study administered by the Department of Theology at Vanguard University. The minor is designed to provide students a theoretical and practical overview of the study of women and women's issues in society from the perspective of various disciplines. Students can also take select courses without completing the major, such as the Intro to Women & Justice course, which helps students understand the foundations of the egalitarian model.
These courses are not just for women. Both men and women of faith should understand and be able to defend their belief in the egalitarian model and understand why Jesus calls both men and women equally.
WJST students recently visited Greece for a study abroad trip focused on anti-trafficking efforts in the city of Athens.
Previous trips have included Spain, Romania, Argentina, and others.

Bringing together trained Vanguard University college students and dedicated teachers to provide essential education on human trafficking, online safety, and healthy relationships.
Ensure Justice Conference
Ensure Justice is an annual two-day conference designed to bring together teachers, law enforcement, students, and community members to study the issues around exploitation and violence and build a stronger safety net.

The Ending Human Trafficking podcast brings together the voices of experts and practitioners to combat human trafficking with over 200 episodes.
Anti-Human Trafficking Certificate
The Anti-Human Trafficking Certificate is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of anti-trafficking efforts and promising practices.
Women & Justice Minor
The Women and Justice Minor is an interdisciplinary minor designed to provide students a theoretical and practical overview of the study of women and men in society.
Summer Study Abroad
Completed online and with in-country practicum, global studies provides an intensive examination of a specific country with a focus on human trafficking and the country’s local and national responses to the issue.

The Women in Leadership Lecture Series features women making a difference. Their stories inspire and students network with community leaders.
